News Producing
From working with reporters to find the best way to tell their story to stacking a show to throwing plans out the window for breaking news, I'm always putting forth my best effort to put together a good, informative newscast for our viewers.
At Fox19 Now in Cincinnati, I started working on weekend nights, but quickly took over our new 3 p.m. show. Since then, I moved to our 6 p.m. newscast, where I had the opportunity to work with three anchors and cover a lot more breaking, hard-hitting news of the day. Now, I'm currently producing our 10 p.m. show, which is rated #1 in our market. Along the way, I've filled in producing nearly every newscast we have, from mornings to dayside to nightside and weekend as I mentioned. It has truly made me a more adaptable and well-rounded producer, ready to handle any situation thrown at me.
Prior to Cincinnati, I worked as the Executive Producer at WDTV I produced the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts, assigned stories to reporters and edited their scripts, wrote and edited the cold open for our 5 p.m. show, coordinated live shots with multiple reporters, and found different ways to showcase stories.
I pride myself with being a quick learner and flexible. After working at my first news station for 6 months, I got promoted to Executive Producer. Being a leader as one of the newest people at the station was a learning curve at first, but now I pride myself with not only my own growth but also the growth of others that I've been able to contribute to.
